STATEMENT OF TRUTH
Eugene "bird"and Fred "Big Sonny"original members of the Intruders. Founded the group in 1956. At that time they were known as the Plaid. Eugene Daughtry "Bird", who sang first tenor, began his singing career doo-wopping with other neighborhood guys on the corners at 12th and poplar Street at the age of 15.
Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, recording produces and promoters, gave the "Intruders" their first break in 1961 with the song "I'm Gonna Be Strong."
